Glass Railing Systems in Miami

Licensed & Insured
Technician Within 24 Hours
3-Month Warranty on Parts and Labor

We install glass railing systems for high-rises and waterfront homes across Miami, built to the wind-load standards Miami-Dade County enforces — with a sightline chain-link and aluminum can't match. Licensed techs on-site within 24 hours, free on-site measurement, no subcontractors.

Glass Railing Systems We Install in Miami

Not every opening calls for the same system. We size each glass railing system, choose the mounting hardware, and specify the thickness based on where the railing sits, what it needs to hold back, and the property's style.

Pool and Patio Barriers

A backyard pool in Coconut Grove or a courtyard pool at a mid-rise still has to clear Florida's Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act: a barrier at least 48 inches tall, no gap a 4-inch sphere could pass through, and a gate that shuts and latches on its own. All our pool panels are constructed to exceed this requirement. We install all gates with self-closing and self-latching hardware.

Balcony and High-Rise Glass Railings

This is where most of our business comes from in Miami. Buildings like Brickell or Edgewater like to brag about their views, and a glass balcony railing is the only one possible in this case. All railings and mounting systems we install for balconies meet the standards of wind load and other regulations imposed by Miami-Dade County. Balconies at high-rise buildings normally require architectural designs approved and constructed by engineers, as well as additional documents for permission to install the railings.

Interior and Exterior Stair Glass Railings

Glass railings are perfect for a house or a 2-story apartment, as they allow light to pass freely from one floor to another. We install these railings for all interior staircases and for outdoor stairs as well, securing them with the proper hardware designed for humid climates.

Deck and Rooftop Glass Railings

Rooftop decks and pool terraces on newer Miami buildings carry real wind load math, not a decorative afterthought. We coordinate the engineering side of these installations so the railing is rated for what the roof actually sees in a storm, not just a calm afternoon.

Choosing a Mounting System

Three approaches cover most of what we install, and in Miami-Dade the hardware also has to carry a current product approval.

As for glass thickness, it directly connects with the installation system used for a specific project. In general, we use glass panels that range from 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch in thickness; laminated glass becomes necessary when the height of the structure increases.

Glass Railing Pricing in Miami

Glass railing is priced by the linear foot, and the system type drives the range more than almost anything else. Coastal Florida jobs also run a bit higher than the national average once marine-grade hardware and thicker glass enter the picture. For homeowners, glass railings increase home value because a modern railing system improves visual appeal and can attract future buyers.

Why Miami-Dade’s Glass Code Is the Strictest in the Country

Hurricane Andrew impacted southern Miami-Dade County in August 1992 as a Category 5 hurricane, but the problem came from more than just the category of the storm: the wind load is what resulted in the failure of windows, doors, and glazing that were supposed to withstand the pressure imposed upon them. Miami-Dade rebuilt its code from that failure. The county set up its own testing standards and created the Product Control Section for it to run approvals for the materials used in constructions in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone; the same standards were adopted by Broward County.

Glass railings are made from tempered or laminated glass of high quality that meets the local code requirements. Tempered glass is subjected to heat treatment for enhanced safety and is often used for railings, while laminated safety glass is commonly used for exterior installations because it consists of two pieces fused together and keeps its structural integrity when shattered; these systems are built for the coastal Miami conditions that involve the challenges typical for this region in terms of weather and corrosion, which is why glass railings safe for balconies and stairs rely on proper mounting as well as the glass itself.

When glass replaces a structural guard post — a standoff-mounted balcony railing, for example — the panel and its mounting have to carry the same wind and impact loads a solid guard would, not just look the part. That’s the standard our installations are held to in Miami-Dade, on top of the pool barrier requirements covered above.

Glass Railing Installation Across Miami

In Coconut Grove, most of our work is pool fencing and stair railingsals for single- and multi-family homes rather than high-rise balconies. Every one of these markets sits inside a High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so product approval comes up on nearly every Miami job, not just the tall ones — and we keep the documentation for each installation on file for permitting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking. Can't find your answer? Just call us.

The price of a glass railing installation is based on the number of feet for the railing and on the type of mounting system and the thickness of the glass being used. We are able to provide you with the exact cost after visiting your site and taking the necessary measurements.
Yes, in most cases. Miami-Dade County requires current product approval for glass and hardware used in exterior applications, including glass used as a structural guard under TAS 202.
Most pool barrier, balcony, and elevated-structure installations require a permit through the City of Miami or Miami-Dade County, depending on the property. We can tell you which applies and handle the documentation.
Custom glass is fabricated to your exact opening, which typically takes about two to three weeks before installation. Condo association approval can add time on top of that, and we build that into your timeline at the measurement visit. Installation itself usually takes one to two days.
Most of the glass panels used in swimming pools and patios vary between 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch tempered glass, which are very resistant to scratches and discoloration. However, taller, wider, and further away systems need to be made of laminated glass, while laminated safety glass can be used for balconies; the type and thickness of glass is indicated during design.
Absolutely. We prepare the necessary paperwork for most condo associations in Miami, and we can join the board meeting if our presence would be beneficial for the approval process.
Not as difficult as painted aluminum or wood railings. Fortunately, maintaining glass railings is easy. Cleaning them regularly with glass cleaner and washing down the fittings once in a while should suffice. However, a seaside railing will require extra maintenance to prevent unwanted salt build-up.
Our crews are based out of our Florida service centers and cover the surrounding area. Call and we'll confirm coverage for your specific address.
