    What We Install

Three door types cover nearly every opening in a Florida house. The first step is always the same: we measure the rough opening, not the old door.

    Impact Entry Doors

Front doors take more daily use than any other opening, so we install impact entry doors with multi-point locks that pull the slab tight into the frame at several spots. Solid or full glass, single or with sidelites and a transom. Aluminum frames stand up to salt air, which matters on the coast. We replace the frame, hinges, and threshold together with the door, so the whole entrance carries one rating.

    Hurricane Impact on French Doors

A pair of hinged panels with no post in the middle, so the whole doorway opens to the lanai; narrower openings get a single French door. Hurricane impact French door installation is usually an outswing job here, since wind pushes an outswing panel into its frame. We check which rating your wall needs, then install panels, sidelites, and locks as one approved unit.

    Impact Sliding Glass Doors

Sliding glass doors come in 2-, 3-, and 4-panel configurations, and they are the patio doors to pick wherever a swinging door would hit the furniture. Impact sliding glass door installation is our most common door job. Wide openings get multi-panel systems up to eight panels, including pocket versions that slide into the wall, creating one open span. We anchor the frame, level the sill, and seal it.

    Which Door Fits Which Opening?

Your opening Usually the best fit Keep in mind
Front doorway Impact entry door Sidelights and transoms are approved together with the door.
About 5–6 ft to a patio or bedroom French door pair An outswing pair needs clear space outside.
About 6–8 ft, to a lanai or pool 2-panel slider Takes no floor space when open.
Wider than 8 ft 3- to 8-panel slider, pocket optional The pocket needs a wall built for it.

    Brands We Install

We don’t build doors; we install them. Our impact entry, French and sliding glass doors come from these lines:

Door, Frame, and Threshold: What Makes a Door Impact-Rated

A door doesn’t become impact-rated because of its glass. The manufacturer tests the whole unit together (laminated glass, frame, hinges or rollers, locks, and threshold) to TAS 201/202/203 standards, and the Florida Product Approval covers exactly that combination. Laminated glass in a standard frame is still a standard door to an inspector, so code compliance means a new door, not a new pane. Only need new glass, no rating? Our glass replacement team handles that.

    Part What you get
Glass Laminated impact glass that stays in the frame when it cracks
Frame Reinforced aluminum or vinyl, stainless steel fasteners on many lines, anchored to the structure
Locks Multi-point locking on hinged doors, dual-point on most sliders
Threshold Sealed and sloped to shed wind-driven rain
Approval One Florida product approval for the complete door; in HVHZ jobs, every impact door must carry a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA)

Why Anchoring and the Sill Matter

If a door opening fails in a storm, wind gets inside and pressurizes the house from within. That’s how roofs get lifted! Water is the quieter problem: on most doors it comes in at the sill, not through the glass.

Outswing or Inswing? Outswing is the usual choice for a Florida patio and French doors, because wind presses the panels into the frame. Inswing is available where the approved rating fits your location.
Hurricane Doors or Impact Doors? Same product, two names. Both mean a door tested for wind-borne debris and pressure cycling, and the code only cares about the approval number.

    Key Benefits of Impact Doors

Impact doors cost more upfront than standard doors. For a house in a hurricane-prone area, they are still one of the smartest investments in protection you can make.

1 Storm Protection Resists flying debris and wind pressure. Close and lock the door, and there is nothing to put up before a storm or take down after. Real peace of mind.
2 Insurance Savings A wind-mitigation inspection can cut the wind portion of your premium by about 20–40% once every exterior opening is protected.
3 Energy Efficiency Better seals and Low-E glass options keep indoor temperatures steady and can trim cooling costs by roughly 15–30%, depending on the house.
4 UV Protection The laminated interlayer blocks up to 99% of UV rays, so floors and furniture fade less.
5 Quieter Rooms Laminated glass takes the edge off traffic, lawn equipment, and the pool pump.
6 Security Glass that holds together when struck and multi-point locks make break-ins much harder, adding real safety for the people and the property inside.
7 Curb Appeal A new entry door or French pair changes how the front of the house looks, with frame finishes and glass styles to match.
8 Low Maintenance Aluminum or vinyl frame materials and sealed glass need little more than cleaning and a periodic weatherstrip check.
